What exactly still works?
Before changing the network, confirm whether Discord opens, messages synchronize, and you can enter the affected server and channel. Then try a second voice channel if available. If every server and channel fails at the same voice state, the problem is broader than one channel. If only one channel fails, its region, permissions, or server configuration may matter.
Discord’s official support page describes ICE Checking, No Route, RTC Connecting, and Connecting as voice connection errors. Discord says they can reflect interference on the user side—such as a firewall or possibly a VPN—or a condition on Discord’s side. The label does not automatically prove UAE filtering.

Compare Wi-Fi with mobile data
Keep the Discord account, device, app version, VPN server, and voice channel the same. Turn Wi-Fi off and test mobile data, then reverse the test. If voice consistently works on one path, that narrows the issue to network handling or route quality.

Does ordinary VPN browsing work?
Connect the VPN and open two normal websites before retesting voice. If browsing fails, Discord is not yet the right layer to debug: fix the VPN connection first. If browsing works but Discord voice does not, check voice-specific causes rather than repeatedly switching countries.
Use one nearby appropriate VPN location when testing voice. A very distant server can add enough latency or packet loss to create poor audio, robotic speech, or dropped calls even when the route technically connects.

Compare other calling apps without assuming the same cause
